On Saturday 19th May 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed at St. George's Chapel, Windsor in a wedding ceremony to end all wedding ceremonies. Over 2 billion people watched on TV and in truly British style, thousands of people lined the wedding route waving Union Jacks. We’re taking our own twist on the Royal Wedding and celebrating some of our favourite cocktails from our the #drinkstagram made in honour of the big day.
First up a cocktail by @greatoaksvc and @minibardelivery which is a traditional British cocktail with an American twist, just like the Royal couple – the Bramble Fizz, made up of 50ml gin, 25ml lemon juice, 12.5ml simple syrup, 12.5ml crème de mure, and 50ml club soda garnished with a lemon half-wheel and a blackberry.
In honour of her wedding dress, the next cocktail is named “The White Wedding” by @redcarnationhotels which is created using gin, elderflower syrup, apple juice, egg white, topped with champagne and garnished with chamomile.
To get away from gin, next up is this “Cherry Bomb” by @supergolden88 and @lovefreshcherries which is made up of 50ml bourbon, 25ml cherry brandy, 12.5ml lemon juice, 12.5ml egg white and 12.5ml grenadine.
And finally a royal cocktail with a royal spirit by @granikal and the American Bar at the @TheSavoyLondon entitled “The Royal Welcome”, a light and aromatic blend of Italicus Rosolio di bergamotto, gin, champagne syrup, yuzu, Peychaud’s bitters and English sparkling wine.
